On September 4th, The Purge returns, not as a new movie (which actually recently released this month calledThe First Purge), but as an all-new ten-episode television event on USA. The series revolves around the annual “Purge” – a 12-hour period when all crime, including vandalism, murder, arson and theft, is legal.

To celebrate the new series, a “Purge City” pop-up shop has been established outside San Diego Comic-Con. No badge is required, however be prepared for a wait to get inside. Once in, fans will be gifted 20 “Purge Dollars” to spend on what they see fit, including higher-priced items such as t-shirts ($15 Purge Dollars) and emergency candles ($12), to impulse buys like magnetic bumper stickers ($2), buttons ($1), and gift cards ($2).

People inside the store are totally in character, and numerous other shop items not for sale (such as body armor and Purge night costumes) totally put you inside the twisted reality of the franchise.

“Purge City” will be open for business at 215 Tony Gwynn Drive until Saturday, July 21 from 11 AM -7 PM and Sunday, July 22 from 11 AM until 4 PM. #ThePurgeTV
