For those who collect Iron Man figures and statues, repaints are a fact of life. And when it comes to classic comic book Iron Man repaints, there’s no armor out there that’s been more prevalent for repaints than the blueberry-flavored Stealth Iron Man. So when Mezco Toyz premiered they’re ONE:12 Collective Iron Man last year, it was a foregone conclusion we’d see a blue repaint. And that inevitability has now occurred: the ONE:12 Collective Exclusive Stealth Iron Man figure is now up for order!

6” Iron Man Stealth Armor figures aren’t exactly a new thing. In fact, the very first Marvel Legends Iron Man figure that Toybiz ever produced…? Yup—Toybiz repainted it into a Stealth Iron Man figure that they released as an exclusive.

So was I the smallest iota surprised when pre-orders opened up this week for a blue Stealth Iron Man Mezco figure…? Nope! But that doesn’t mean I’m not happy and excited to see him!

If you already ordered the red and yellow Iron Man ONE:12 Collective figure and don’t care about color variants, then you’re all set and not missing anything here. This is a 100% repaint with no new parts or tooling whatsoever. The big allure here is the palette swap and the exclusivity.

The accessories are also just recolored versions of all the ones that come with the regular ONE 12 Collective Iron Man figure: six interchangeable hands, twin power pods with diffuser missiles, wrist rocket, and (red) blast effects/booster effects/chest beam. I like the red energy effects more than the yellow myself, but your aesthetic preferences may vary.

As with the normal Mezco Iron Man action figure, ONE:12 Stealth Iron Man features a light-up electronic Arc reactor and a magnetic visor that can be moved up to reveal Tony Stark’s portrait. It’s not the most flattering comic-based Tony Stark head ever, mind you, but it’s always good to have extra display options. This version will also carry the same $90 MSRP as the plain iteration.

Basically, if you prefer Iron Man in blue (or hopelessly can’t resist Iron Man armor permutations, like me), then this Previews Exclusive Iron Man Stealth Armor figure may be for you. If you’re good with classic red and yellow, move along—there’s nothing to see here.

The Previews Exclusive Mezco ONE:12 Collective Stealth Iron Man is now up for order, and is scheduled to be released in September 2018. Mezco is generally pretty quick about releasing the variants before the main line figures in the ONE:12 Collective (sometimes even before the main versions!), so I’m confident we’ll see Stealth Iron Man arrive this fall.
