SAN DIEGO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–DC Universe Online (DCUO), the popular free-to-play massively multiplayer online (MMO) Super Hero game by Daybreak Games, is now available on Nintendo Switch.

DC Universe Online is the first and only MMO game set in the iconic DC Universe to be available on Nintendo Switch. For the first time, players can experience the massive scale of DC Universe Online on-the-go, including more than 30 breathtaking episodes that take place in huge open worlds such as Gotham City and Metropolis or beneath the sea in Atlantis. A Nintendo Switch Online membership is not required to play.

DC Universe Online allows players to channel their inner Super Hero or Super-Villain by creating a unique, customizable character from a wide selection of superpowers, movement modes, weapons and over 2000 styles. Players fight alongside DC’s iconic characters, including Batman, Wonder Woman, Superman and The Joker, in immersive, physics-based action combat.

The DCUO team focused on many quality-of-life improvements over the past year to ensure players have the best MMO experience on Nintendo Switch. These include a revamped tutorial, access to the latest event content within a few hours of starting the game, new augment and artifact systems, and updated character models. DCUO will launch on Nintendo Switch with a brand-new server, separate from all other communities.

Looking ahead in 2019 on all platforms, DCUO will release two new episodes based on DC’s Dark Nights: Metal comic book series. Episode 35: Metal – Part I will release in September 2019, with the finale, Episode 36: Metal – Part II releasing in December 2019.
