Lake Forest, CA — October 18, 2019 — Cryptozoic Entertainment, leading creator of tabletop games, trading cards, and physical and digital collectibles, today announced that it will showcase its major tabletop titles at Internationale Spieltage SPIEL ’19, October 24-27 in Essen, Germany. The annual event is the biggest fair for board games in the world, featuring over 1,000 exhibitors and allowing gamers to interact with game publishers, designers, illustrators, and reviewers.
At Booth 2D128, Cryptozoic will demo and sell the newest entries in its hugely popular DC Deck-Building Game series: Rebirth and Crossover Pack 8: Batman Ninja. In addition, the company will have the first deck-building game in its acclaimed Epic Spell Wars™ series: Epic Spell Wars of the Battle Wizards: ANNIHILAGEDDON Deck-Building Game. In celebration of next month’s premiere of the fourth season of Rick and Morty, Cryptozoic will present its diverse lineup of games based on the Adult Swim series, including the recently released Rick and Morty: Look Who’s Purging Now Card Game. Finally, it will sell fan-favorite Pantone: The Game, as well as many other classic titles, at its booth.

“Cryptozoic is thrilled to be attending the biggest tabletop gaming show in the world once again,” said John Sepenuk, CEO of Cryptozoic. “SPIEL is going to be a crowded event, so we’re looking to grab everyone’s attention with our major gaming brands: DC Deck-Building Game, Epic Spell Wars, Rick and Morty, and Pantone: The Game. We look forward to meeting all our fans in Germany and making lots of new ones when people see our games!”

Cryptozoic will demo and sell the following new and popular games:

DC Deck-Building Game: Rebirth: This entry in the popular DC Deck-Building Game series breaks fresh ground with linked Campaign Scenarios, character progression, and character movement between iconic locations. In the game, 1-4 players become members of the Justice League and move their standees to find cards for their decks and defeat dastardly Villains. Each Scenario includes special rules, new cards, and different locations.

DC Deck-Building Game Crossover Pack 8: Batman Ninja:  Based on the Batman Ninja animated feature, this expansion for the popular DC Deck-Building Game series is set in feudal Japan and allows 2-5 players to become Super Heroes who battle Super-Villains in giant castles that come to life. Moreover, it introduces cards with the keyword “Ninjutsu” that provide effects that can be invaluable to victory, particularly when the Super-Villains merge to form one final challenge.

Epic Spell Wars™ of the Battle Wizards: ANNIHILAGEDDON Deck-Building Game: The first Epic Spell Wars deck-building game features the trademark over-the-top, mature humor and art that fans have come to expect from the series. It utilizes Cryptozoic’s Cerberus Engine in innovative ways as 2-5 players become Wizards and try to buy magical Spell, Wizard, Treasure, and Creature cards—among other card types—in order to defeat their opponents and become the Annihilageddon Tournament Champion.

Rick and Morty: Look Who’s Purging Now Card Game: Based on the popular episode of the TV show, this game utilizes Cryptozoic’s new Gryphon card game engine to deliver gameplay that unfolds at lightning speed and is easy to learn. It features simultaneous play, as 2 to 4 players become Rick, Morty, and others and play their Weapon Cards at the same time to rack up kills during the annual Festival.
Pantone™: The Game: In this easy-to-learn competitive party game, 2-20 players try to recognize characters from pop culture who are represented only by abstract arrangements of colors, inspired by Pantone™, the world’s leading color expert. Designed by Scott Rogers (Rayguns and Rocketships, the God of War video game series), the game has garnered glowing reviews from many outlets, including highly regarded podcast and YouTube channel The Dice Tower.
