WizKids Games DC HeroClix Iconix: Batman Forever Review Hot Toy Reviews October 13, 2025 We’re back with another look at an awesome HeroClix Iconix set from WizKids Games. This time we return to the world of DC Comics, and wouldn’t you know it, it’s another Batman pack. The Dark Knight has been featured in multiple Iconix releases, and he isn’t showing any signs of retiring. This one, though, is really special, as it brings to the game another live-action Caped Crusader and a couple of his supervillains from the classic 1995 film Batman Forever! HeroClix has absolutely tons of Batman figures, mostly from the comics but also from video games, Batman: The Animated Series, the Adam West series, and the Christian Bale and Ben Affleck movies. Now Val Kilmer joins the party, and he brings along with him Jim Carrey as Riddler, and Tommy Lee Jones as Two -Face! Batman Forever continues the run of impeccably designed HeroClix Iconix packaging, with its unique theme. The trio of movie figures come in a standard Iconic window box, this one branded with the film’s logo and color scheme with the stylish bat symbol in a question mark on the front panel. As usual the sides of the box show off 3D renders of the figures inside, while the back has information about them and their source material. Flip open the front flap to reveal some really cool black and green Batman artwork, and the window to see the hero and his two villains. This trio of terrific tiny titans looks great, each figure bringing the unique looks of the movie characters to the small scale. Batman stands tough, fists on his hips while looking into the distance, with a highly detailed bat-suit complete with sculpted musculature, chest bat symbol, forearm spines, belt, and cape and cowl. Naturally almost all of that is black, the only exceptions being yellow on the chest, flesh tone face, and eyes with painted pupils. Riddler is Jim Carrey overacting at his finest, looking absolutely ridiculous in his skintight green suit covered in black question marks with matching domino mask. He stands in a very silly pose, left fist at his waist while holding his gold question mark-topped cane over his right shoulder. He looks upwards as well, a goofy smile accenting his figure as much as his orange hair. And then there’s the legendary Two-Face! One side wears a black and white suit with red tie while the other is resplendent in a maroon suit with white details, black glove, and yellow shirt and tie. He stands with his head cocked to the side, right hand reaching into his jacket to pull out his trademark coin. Two-Face looks amazing, topped off by a normal half-face and one that’s completely maroon and scarred with wild hair. The figures in this set have very team-friendly point costs, perfect for adding to your existing HeroClix collection. The man in black is 60 points with the Batman Ally team ability, a 4 range with two targets, and a trait that lets you generate (or move adjacent) a Robin bystander at the beginning of your turn. With solid stats all around, Bruce Wayne starts the game with a pseudo-Quake special power that combines Leap/Climb with a free Quake after moving across elevations, before cycling through Flurry and Sidestep. The attack track is pretty bland with only mid-dial Precision Strike, while defense and Damage are packed with Combat Reflexes, Super Senses, Willpower, Outwit, and Perplex. The keywords Batman Family, Detective, Gotham City, and Martial Artist give you good team building options, and Robin comes with a 3 range and two targets, Flurry, Incapacitate, Super Senses, and Perplex. Riddler is 50 points with the Batman Enemy team ability, a 5 range with three targets, and Improved Targeting ignoring hindering terrain. He may wear green but his dial is very blue, with bottom-dial Mind Control, a full run of Incapacitate, and top-dial Mastermind (before Willpower). Nygma starts the game with a Mind Control special power that lets him use it on anyone, anywhere so long as the target was Outwitted or Perplex since your last turn. Meanwhile, a full dial damage special power stacks up Outwit, Perplex, and Probability Control! As a living god of knowledge with those excellent support powers, Riddler is a very good addition to any Arkham Asylum, Detective, Gotham City, Gotham City Underworld, or Scientist team. Two-Face is… well, nuts. A 45 point dial brings a lot of potential, with two team abilities in Batman Enemy and Underworld, a 4 range, and the keywords Arkham Asylum, Gotham City, Gotham City Underworld, Police, and Politician. His “Luck. Blind, Stupid, Simple, Clueless, Doo-Dah Luck.” trait is bonkers, combining the mundane Stealth with the insane ability to flip a coin at the beginning of each of your opponent’s turn; when you win, that opponent must deal 1 unavoidable damage to one of their characters! Harvey has a typically weird dial with alternating clicks of Sidestep, Precision Strike, and Mastermind, and Running Shot, Penetrating/Psychic Blast, and Super Senses. Finally, his entire damage track features a special power granting Leadership and another free coin flip; heads lets you move an ally and tails deals damage to an enemy in range and line of fire. I’m old enough to have seen Batman Forever in theaters, and I’ve always had a soft spot for it (even if it’s not my favorite Bat outing). It’s awesome to own and play with figures of these iconic characters, and all three of them look great. They’re solid game pieces that will absolutely find spots on your Gotham, Arkham Asylum, and Batman Family teams whether you’re new to the game or have been playing for decades. I highly recommend this Iconix set for fans of the movie, the Dark Knight, and DC Comics in general!
