Joshua Grossberg won the Judges Choice Award at the 5th Annual SDCC Captain Action Custom Contest with his custom Dr Fate figure (pictured below). Joshua will be familiar to readers as the winner of last years Captain Action “Outta This World” custom figure contest (read our story HERE).

This year the 7 judges gave Joshua a special Judges Choice Award for his custom Dr Fate Captain Action figure. Dr Fate features a full custom, hand sculpted and painted polyurethane mask, a full custom belt harness, a customized Henshin Cyborg chest piece, an Adventure Gear dark blue jumpsuit and customized Loki gloves and Wolverine boots. Captain Action fans may also recognize the Playing Mantis Kabai Singh cape he is wearing. This year the contest was expanded to include illustration and photography so Josh used Photoshop to give Dr Fate dramatic hand energy!
