DAVID MANDEL AND RYAN CONDAL ANNOUNCE NEW PODCAST “THE STUFF DREAMS ARE MADE OF” PRODUCED BY ROOSTER TEETH

12-EPISODE SERIES FOLLOWS TWO A-LIST WRITER-PRODUCERS ACROSS 35+ YEARS COLLECTING HOLLYWOOD PROPS, ART AND EPHEMERA

Austin, Texas—October 16, 2020—Powerhouse entertainment studio and WarnerMedia company Rooster Teeth today announced the launch of a new podcast entitled “The Stuff Dreams Are Made Of” hosted by David Mandel (Veep, Curb Your Enthusiasm) and Ryan Condal (Colony, Rampage, Game of Thrones prequel series). This Hollywood insider podcast invites listeners to join David and Ryan as they share the wildest stories behind the props, costumes, art and other ephemeral treasures they’ve accumulated during their combined 35+ years of A-list show biz experience. Rooster Teeth produces the series and the company’s podcast network, The Roost, will represent the podcast for sales and distribution.

“As devoted fans and creators of iconic entertainment, David and Ryan are brilliant storytellers and ‘The Stuff Dreams Are Made Of’ is the perfect format for them to weave their personal Hollywood experiences with rarely-heard tinseltown history,” said Head of Rooster Teeth Studios Ryan P. Hall . “After our first meeting, it was a no brainer to produce this show and bring it to the Rooster Teeth community.”

“This has been a dream project of mine since I stole my first props off the set of Seinfeld,” said Mandel. Ryan and I met through collecting and have conversations like these all the time. Thanks to Rooster Teeth, we now have a home to indulge in our obsessions and share them on the show.”

Condal added, “What first attracted me to the hobby is the history and mystery of it. We thought it would be a lot of fun to share our stories with like-minded collectors, casual fans, and people who can’t believe that we spend our time doing this.” “Also,” said Mandel, “let’s not lie: we are desperately hoping people offer us some really cool stuff to buy for our collection because of this podcast.”

The Roost podcast network head A.J. Feliciano will lead development of the planned 12-episode series, which debuts October 22 across prominent audio streaming platforms including Apple, Spotify and RoosterTeeth.com.

“This rare look at the real-world stories behind the facade of Hollywood’s silver-screen mythology enhances our commitment to podcasts fueled by fandom,” Feliciano said. “‘The Stuff Dreams Are Made Of’ is an exciting addition to our robust slate of personality-driven podcasts available now through The Roost.”

Prior to working with Rooster Teeth Studios, David Mandel began his career writing for Saturday Night Live (SNL) and Seinfeld. He then went on to co-write EuroTrip and The Dictator, in addition to writing, directing and producing beloved HBO shows Curb Your Enthusiasm and Veep. Somewhere in there, he also did the cult comedy Clerks: the Animated Series, and is the co-author of “Star Wars Art: Ralph McQuarrie.”

Ryan Condal never worked on Seinfeld but did watch it obsessively enough to generate considerable residuals for David long before they met. Ryan’s Hollywood career began writing screenplays for hard-hitting action movies like the Dwayne Johnson titles Hercules and Rampage before creating and writing successful TV shows including Colony for the USA Network. Condal is currently showrunning House of the Dragon, the forthcoming successor series to HBO’s Game of Thrones that he co-created with George R.R. Martin.
