Justice League Unlimited – Gotham in a Flash

Finally.  I know he’s technically only a part time member, but it took us 9 Boosters to get Batman.  Here he is in Box 9.  We got Batman (common), Lex Luthor – but its really Wally (common), Flash (uncommon), Huntress (uncommon) and Static future version (rare).

OK, yes, we got way too many Batman in the Batman Animated set – maybe 8? I’ve lost track – but this would not be a Justice League Animated set without Batman.  I like that WizKids HeroClix version is sculpted holding his signature weapon, the batarang.  Mattel captures the feel excellently with the very square jaw.

The other piece I am most excited to see here is Huntress.  Her character had an interesting story arc which involved her being kicked out of the League.  Her show related quotes include “When are you going to take me on a real date Q”.  Glad she was included.  Mattel’s version looks really good, even with all of the details painted on. WizKids pose with the crossbow extended is very cool.

Lex here (and the other version) is an excellent use by WizKids using a different color scheme to differentiate to versions of the same character.  Here the purple and green is actually Lex while the tan and brown version is Wally trapped in Lex’s body from the episode The Great Brain Robbery.  Wally’s named powers include some of his best quotes from that episode like “No … cause I’m evil” and “Pop Quiz … Everyone tell me their part in the plan”.

Unfortunately when we get to the Flash, he suffers the same problem as Green Arrow.  Too hard to tell them apart.  That said, the Great Brain Robbery mechanic where you can swap Flash-Lex and Luthor-Wally back to their respective selves is a very cool concept and I cannot wait to try it out.  But some color difference would have helped here.

Finally we get to Static, the future version we saw in The Once and Future Thing.  Including his phrase “Sixty-five is the new thirty”.  Here, I have to give WizKids props again for using a minor paint change to give us 2 distinct versions of a character.  The bright yellow makes the older Static jump out.  Hey, they even gave him a new head!
