We’re back with another exclusive dial reveal from the upcoming Star Trek HeroClix Away Team The Original Series expansion coming very soon in December.  Yesterday we got to look at the Romulan commander Charvanek (see her HERE), and today we have your first look at the creature called Yarnek from the episode The Savage Curtain!  An Excalbian, Yarnek oversaw a strange contest to investigate the differences between good and evil by pitting Kirk, Spock, President Abraham Lincoln, and Vulcan Surak against ruthless historical figures Colonel Green, Kahless, Genghis Khan, and Zora.

A creature at home in his native volcanic environs, Yarnek sort of resembles a vaguely humanoid pile of rocks with a gritty, bumpy texture.  It squats on large feet with a tail extended behind it, pincer clawed hands at the ready and a lumpy head covered by multiple glowing orb-like eyes.

Yarnek is 60 points with Indomitable and two traits.  The first prevents it from being carried and lets opposing characters freely move past it and break away, while the second buffs ALL characters within 6 squares +1 to attack when targeting a single character also within 6 squares.  At first glance Yarnek’s dial is odd with slow speed, absolutely no attacking/damaging via attacking, and a strong defense.  A solid string of 4 movement does have Sidestep the whole dial, so at least he can consistently move a little bit at a time.  His 0 attack values always have Poison, so enemies that happen to find themselves adjacent will take some damage.  Defensively the creature has a full dial of Invincible, which is especially strong within the Away Team set.  And lastly Yarnek has three opening clicks of a special power giving it Enhancement and Empower!  Yarnek can be a strong and tough support character so long as he can keep up with your attackers, and if you can pin down enemies his Poison will help too.  It can also be played at 40 points starting on click #3.
